Lasthold is a Forgotten Realms NWN Roleplay Server focused primarily on the small (non-canon) logging encampment of Lasthold.
Lasthold is designed as a low level server taking Players from Level 1 to 5.
Level progression is slow with greater xp rewards available from quest completion than combat. There is no level cap although characters above level 5 will find the server less of a challenge.
The village is located in a crook of the river mirar near the western edge of Lurkwood and close to the foothills of the Spine of the World.
Built on the old ruins of a small town of the same name which, centuries ago, surrounded the imposing fortress known as “The LastHold” - An impregnable mountain stronghold housing temples, Priests and Paladins dedicated to the goodly triad of Tyr, Torm and Ilmater - The town provided food, trade and raw recruits to the castle until it mysteriously and tragically fell, some say betrayed from within.
A visitor will find that Lasthold’s present inhabitants are a resilient bunch, inured to hardship from daily contact with the extreme cold weather that the village’s northerly location brings, but also hospitable and generous. However should this good nature be abused, retribution follows swiftly as Lasthold boasts a sophisticated justice system.
The law is enforced by the local militia known as the Lastwatch, named after the sect of Paladins who previously manned the fallen fortress from which Lasthold took its name. As well as being well trained and dedicated the Lastwatch also have access to some of the sect’s ancient and powerful magic.
Lasthold is currently enjoying something of a boom fueled by interest and funding from nearby Mirabar, who see Lasthold as the perfect base from which to launch expeditions to re-annex some of their lost mines.
Merchants and Nobleman from as far a field as Waterdeep can also be found, drawn by the whiff of opportunity being carried downwind on the frigid breeze.
